Quick Tip for Soft Hands
Upon a relatively recent trip to Lush on a mission to find a cure for my partner's rough "tradie hands", the sales assistant let me in on a little secret...
After discussing the situation on hand with the sales girl for a few minutes, she recommended two little products which I otherwise would have bypassed: The Ocean Salt exfoliator (normally used for face and body) and Lemony Flutter (adorable name!) cuticle cream. Now when I say I would have otherwise disregarded these products, I mean this because the way she showed me to use them, is not what is indicated on the containers.
Take one small dollop of Ocean Salt in one hand, with one small dollop of the Lemony Flutter in the other hand. Now, over a sink rub your hands together vigorously, working the two products into your skin being sure to also exfoliate between your fingers and and knuckles (this is where my hands tend to dry out). The Ocean Salt sloughs away those dead skin cells on your hands, while the Lemony Flutter is a thick, concentrated, oily cream which will give your hands an intense hydration. After washing off your hands, pat dry and follow up with a thick hand cream. I LOVE the Soap and Glory Hand Food (purchase HERE). Or for an extra hydration boost since Winter is upon us, slip those hands into a pair of shea butter gloves, (my faves are the Soothing Moisturising Gloves from Kit. They are not listed online but you can find them in Kit and Mecca Maxima) and catch up on a few episodes of Kardashians.
Try this and I promise you will be amazed with the result. As for my partner, he also enjoys this trick, although he really doesn't commit to the regime as much as he should with his hands. I like to do this 1-2 times a week.
Ocean Salt and Lemony Flutter are both available to Lush HERE. Don't forget to save your black containers! If you collect 5 empties, Lush will exchange them for a free fresh face mask.
